Backing into a Poem - April 8, 2022

today the road ahead

is blocked

no detour

no turn around

in a slow reverse

I remember something

I passed earlier

an overgrown path

No Trespassing sign

not sure why

I didn’t think earlier

that it would make

the perfect route

for twists and turns

populated with the

cries of shy creatures

and so worth the risk

of getting caught
