rub their feelers together nervously

most skitter about with dire gossip in the darkness

saying things are going to get bad

although a few still tap out a hopeful message

that by sundown you may decide to head out of town

never to return

the entire showdown hinges on one thing

and one thing only

how many shots

I have remaining

in that

can of Raid
