that’s me

the tall bent stiffler

caught on our security camera

fingering potted soil

watering can in hand

newspapers in the other

not dark alley dangerous

or too Quasimodo odd

though hunched

and stupefied

between plants

like in a half-dream

I erase the slow thick video

from my phone

arch my back and remember

everyone that takes pictures

with their eyes

develops them with thought

and leaves it

up to the heart

to decide

which ones to keep
