at the moment of death

every hue and pigment of life

appears to bleed away

 

but who can really tell 

it might be like the sun going down

the world becomes a black void

 

and then maybe an unknown

dawn cycles back around

and some new light rises

 

I would like the job

to be there when

your eyes realize

 

you got to keep your colors
