Red Puddles - April 28, 2022

who isn’t in a fight

with one thing or another

battling weight

struggling for money

in the crossfire

of an argument

how about those invisible

tanks we send to

stop or even

push back time?

and then there’s

the kind that involves

gutter-blood cluster bombs

2-ton warheads and faces

frozen in final breaths

our bodies are too frail

for that kind of conflict

and the mad man

with missiles knows

after it rains

the puddles are red
