a pair of doves share

a bath at the waterfall

nice to have body and clothes

cleaned in a single cycle

air-dried on a sunny wire

with reams of shared gossip

after my morning shower

I’ll do two loads of laundry

fold and put them away

then need a nap

they can also build a nest

in three afternoons

have two children

and move away in two months

before a single stick

has been propped up

in a new home for a couple

dreaming of kids

the blessing of simple

left to the trees

bushes  birds

and a morning sun

offering free labor

that the doves  especially

are keen to hire
