Sunday afternoons around here

there’s always a boxing match

lazy vs. sleepy

no motivation matched up

against no energy

they face off in the ring

boxing gloves half-hanging

off their hands which droop

down at their sides

they look at each other

one decides on a strategy

yawns the other collapses

on a ten count

of course you know

someone threw the fight

and those snores

are a stained victory
