who gives a brief nod

a tiny tip of a thought to

the sparrow-people said

to flit between the fruited

and untilled worlds


who appear to bear presence

and revelation through

undecipherable speech

and waves of silence


their words pocketed by

dummies and dreamers


eaten voraciously

by the starving hearts

of ignorant souls

like I was


hungry then

spoon-less now
