if you’re looking for

yourself in mirrors

shatter them all

 

except the one in a still pond

where you’ll see

 

          a ghost in the liquid

          and mystery in the depths

    

            the face of a being and

           its unfathomable source

 

            yourself floating in a dark

shroud of secrecy

 

a pond has a surface which reflects

only one truth  the other truth

is murky and rarely seen

 

and both so quickly disappear

when life drops something

in the water
