sets of four legs all around me

Cutter, Oliver, Gracie and Scout -

walking tables with flexible supports

 

while my two only multiply my chance

of falling, breaking a leg or hip – hey,

ever heard of a dog with a leg cast or

a hip replacement from a fall?

 

compare a desk to a floor

lamp – you know which

is more likely to fall over

if it’s moved

 

one day, that will be me

and their ears will rise

and perfectly frame

surprised looks

 

on their lucky little faces
