sets of four legs all around me

Cutter, Oliver, Gracie and Scout -

walking tables with flexible supports

 

while my only two multiply my chance

of tumbling, breaking a leg or hip, you’ve

never heard of a dog with a cast or

a hip replacement from a fall

 

compare a desk to a floor

lamp – which do you think

is more likely to fall over

when it is moved

 

one day I will crash to

the ground

 

and their ears will rise

and perfectly frame

their lucky little faces
