of course I’ll celebrate

when you get to the

top of that mountain

 

and help plant the flag

of your hundred-year goal

into the soil of your legacy

 

I’m sure hugs and kisses and

wrapping paper will drape

you as the gifts pour in

 

we’ll leave you to your joy

and head down the incline

as it all comes to a close

 

though I hope you remember

to take little steps

on your way back down
