old couples don’t throw around

this question much but after

thirty years I thought I’d ask

Are you happy?

his reply

Of course, I’m happy

what I was hoping for

I can’t think of any place I’d rather be

on Friday night than in front of our fire

watching a movie and eating pizza

bookended by Oliver and Gracie

begging for their chicken treats

and you within arm’s reach

Isn’t that the kind of answer

you’d love to hear, too?
