Is she juggling elephants

today or riding a horse

on the highwire,

 

or he, acting as Master of

Ceremonies, talking into the

microphone of a tiger’s mouth?

 

for them, a bewildering mental circus

for you, the audience, it’s wondering

what this ticket has bought you

 

oh, and there one goes,

playing a fire-swallower

with the mouth closed

 

this disease is so hard to watch
