to lure you forward inward

upward to a time and space

more joyous than you are now

and with just one or two

asleep on the sofa

four dear friends are coming to

dinner in a couple hours

I’m munching a particularly

good brand of kettle chips

and finishing up this poem

maybe for me

is as good as it gets
