there are no keys to happiness

because happiness is not behind

a door you unlock and step into

 

it is not a place but a moment

that comes and goes, wonderful

but terribly fleeting, leaving

nothing to hold on to

 

So what to do, where to go

how to find it?

 

think of a dog, not always full of

joy but certainly with ever-present

energy, unfailingly alive

in the moment

 

so my advice is to be a dog

 

and if you don’t have one

be the dog you wish
