Birthed from a Box - May 17, 2021

Gary Hunter

life walks into the marketplace

jumps onto a trading block and gavels

hawking for buyers willing to barter for a

good deal that’s rarely a great one a bargain

but not too exquisite all to be paid with

saved hope and prayers

and so you are purchased sight unseen

as solid and sure as a prayer in a box

your parents now proud owners

of an unguaranteed dream

they must wait

to awaken
