move beyond

dogs kids parents

spouses friends

to reach the immeasurable

go from lover to Lover?

for a very long time

capital “L” was my goal

until I crashed back to earth

which dropped my heavy hand

onto Oliver’s furry white head

and pressed my eyes into his

there I discovered

a loveable galaxy

I can’t stop exploring

or maybe

it’s a black hole

of affection who’s gravity

I’ll never escape
