Caught in the Rain - Dec. 18, 2025

what starts

no thicker than

a sneeze

congeals to tap on

my hat then drum

around my feet

as I turn around

with quick strides

quicken my way home

finally, sweatshirt off

sneakers removed

but the damp t-shirt

remains, a moist warmth

comforting on the skin

like to eyes, the fat drops

bouncing in the pool

the shoulders of trees

bent with rain

the world outside,

clean and born again
