isn’t there a love for the ocean creatures

that porpoise at the surface

then deep dive into the unknown

and those who relish watching them?

even fewer are those that keep an eye peeled

for the mysteries of life that occasionally drift

into the shallows praying they linger

a bit before the tide claims them

hoping they’ll leave a clue
