Explaining Happiness - Oct. 24, 2024

air is cool  breathless

a soft sun glows in the east

morning awakens

yoga is effortless

I watch the day’s first dove drink

from a glistening waterfall

my joy has been up for awhile

cleaning the kitchen  watering plants

stepping outside to watch the sun rise

maybe it was yesterday’s poem

or the excellent deep sleep

our sick dog feels much better

happiness is hard to explain

like why one peach from my tree is always

sweeter than all the rest

or one day the stranger I quietly pass

suddenly smiles and says Hi

or that time I sang in the

shower and one verse

gave me goosebumps
