some will always rise

above us, from wonderful

musicians to that rockstar

pedestal in the sky

 

the only mistake I see is that

we hold them above us, like gods,

while our unique talent lies

buried inside, waiting to be

 

pulled out and played, practiced

and perfected, crafted by our angles

of experience and vision each life

is designed to bring forth

 

everyone has a platform that awaits,

a stage with a name on it, a place

where every talent is not judged

but equally revered

 

only then can we gather as

fellow travelers and say

 

let’s see, together,

how high we can climb
