For Those of Us Who've Lived Long Enough - Feb. 9, 2024

the ones we grew up with

have started to leave us both

suddenly and slowly so we adjust

our portfolio of friends and family

pulling from those pages  the pictures

that haven’t already fallen off

exposing more and more of an

empty white background with yellowed

edges    that’s loneliness that grows

with the memories as both

stare at the approach of the

black-holed mystery – death

I think it’s time

to exercise again

I’d like to add some muscle

to bravery
