I know what you’ve done

you know what you’ve done

came to this country

and stayed longer

than you knew you should

existing undocumented living

invisible or as someone else

or no one at all

gardener

pool man

housecleaner

people I shouldn’t know

with smiles I shouldn’t return

friends I’m not supposed to have

but that’s what love does

breaks the laws of man

let’s the heart be judge

in a courtroom

where right and wrong

has no evidence
