Getting Down to Business - Oct. 16, 2022

it’s really the perfect time

with writing tablet freshly in hand

pen in the other and two free hours

for a quick check on the salt level

in the pool maybe see if the

mail’s been delivered then

plant that mango seed

sitting by the kitchen sink

stroke Gracie’s fat belly

gosh she looks comfortable

text a friend well three

look up Big Bear Lake real estate

listings with views of course

empty the compost pail

all this done with the magical thinking

that a scattering of duties just

might spill something on the page

kick start a lyrical storm

funny that the cloud poem

I was just tracking

before all those distractions

has left the sky

and all that empty blue

probably means

definitely means

this one is over too
