Go Ahead, Interrupt Me - March 23, 2025

I’m not one of those offended

being cut off

 

I love the stop-and-go traffic

of conversation

 

that kind of bad driving is funny

and accidents even funnier

 

however, if I see a vehicle

in my rear-view mirror

hopscotching between cars

as they move farther and farther

ahead till they finally wedge

their car on front of me

 

I wish in that moment

I had an eighteen-wheeler

and a sarcastic apology ready

 

for when the brakes didn’t work
