Going with the Flow - Sept. 14, 2022

if I have a headache

I might write a short poem

A dark and forgettable haiku

search the afternoon rain

when I’m tired

it’s stop and go in circles

turn around and loop back

the business plan of a tortoise

with an upbeat day

I script sunshine colors

that reach and movement

my eyes roping rainbows

if my mind is at peace

I may leave the paper blank

for what can be added

by a pen with nothing to say

the page a silent white tundra

an ink stain on frozen lips
