in my napping-dream

I’ve nearly filled a 50 gallon can

hacking pulling and tossing

the pond’s overgrown taro plants

when I’m awakened by

the preset 3 pm alarm

and head to the window


a sea of green nodding faces

study me wondering

if I have the energy

to do it all over again
