How Much do you Tell your Doctor - Feb. 7, 2025

Imagine the aches and pains

of a hundred patients

told with hands waving, pointing

complaining in groans

from the doctor’s touch

but do they say anything about

that stumble they had the moment

they were struck by an unusual feeling

their difficulty catching breath

that mental blockage and emotional

fire that rose in them

it’s odd behavior, getting ready

to fall in love, clinging with both hands

then five fingers   then one

letting go, would they try to explain

to him the healthy measurements

of blood sugar and pressure

their relaxed and happy

out-of-character look

he might press you to know

what’s changed but would

you, will you?

remember   his curiosity could be

linked to his own mighty need

as it is about this oddly new you

the dogs and I walk square streets - four rights and we’re back home   a trip to the grocery store is like a business trip, the doctor’s office, a reluctant outing eating out, an oh boy! adventure
