How She'd Light Up - Nov. 4, 2022

Gary Hunter

eyes that burst stars

huge smile just for me

and a love that

wouldn’t let go

when she’d wrap me

in her arms

that was Gramma

as a child

I noticed

she’d suffuse

into a bright lamp

whenever I came near

only later

after she died

finding out

my grandfather’s

brazen infidelity

was her dark prison

and I

the one

who carried a key
