Ice Cream for Breakfast - March 16, 2023

today’s egg juice and English muff won’t be replaced by mint chip ice cream with a coffee chaser but that day is coming when a silly moment will push me into

an age of foolishness spinning off into a daring crazy and impulsive move one that an eight or eighty-year-old might try facing the freezer

mumbling Why not!

and spoon in that cold sweet cream

let it become the blissful trickle

that coats the back of my throat

pooling into a secret smile if you believe a balanced life isn’t always found in convention but in occasionally audacious

and quirky choices then I need to ask - what would be your “ice cream for breakfast”?
