inside out

 

we are tin men and glass women

one dents, the other chips

 

or maybe it’s the

other way around

 

though either can break

open with enough pressure

 

revealing the soft core

the naked essence

 

seems like every life I know

has been there

 

armor fallen away

exposed to the world

 

that’s how it started for me,

forced myself to investigate

look deeply into the mirror

 

and with love’s help

accepted what I was

 

from the inside, out
