Loneliness of a Writer - Feb. 20, 2025

Gary Hunter

words live as isolated

as those who rescue them

find them company

or a nice home in a lyric

phrase or sentence

writers work disconnected from their kind

and after a long day of finding

companionship for words

they shut off the lights

close the office door

and head into the world

seeking their own salvation
