offering a vision of heaven
to near-sighted eyes
or walking too quickly for
broken dreams to keep up
or playing outside in the rain
as we spread buckets for leaky roofs
she only wants to bring
happiness with her
into tomorrow
not watch it pond
and puddle in the past
