I only see it
when the wind blows leaves
into the pool
three underwater jets
cause snakelike currents
that twist and turn
in and around itself
exactly like a python
shifting position
and who can tell what’s
sleep or strike-like?
As the pelican thermometer
drifts into the middle
of the tight coil
oblivious
