I think many begin seeking fulfillment

outside, before turning inward to look

 

my journey went the other way, starting

off spirit-bound and finishing earth-bound

 

perhaps it’s all the same and doesn’t matter

how inner and outer got engaged

 

because those marriages are always a small

affair with no big church weddings

 

just you laying a ring on a two-way mirror

and saying “till death do us part”
