walk a blue lagoon

see how the mountains

are white sketched

at the top

 

watch the neon show

of the Northern Lights, then

turn around to orange snakes of

lava, twisting in the darkness

 

loneliness, also, has elements

of temperature and distance

 

warm bodies need to be close

 

and in Iceland with

so many cold miles

holding too few choices

it must be a challenge

 

to un-single oneself
