at a certain age, if you must

dash across a street

drivers will slow down,

mainly for the entertainment

 

or thinking you can still jog,

start slowly and see how you

plod these days, just remember

the pocket first aid kit

 

even if your walk

leans to one side

and your hinges hurt

stumble on as long as you can

 

but if your wheels are on

on their last rusty turn,

limber up some love

if you haven’t already

 

I bet you’ll find

you move in ways

you couldn’t before
