sometimes

in the courtroom of your mind

there is a chorus of opinions

swarming a backlog of answer-verdicts

with demanding questions

still hankering for a trial

in judgement wields a loud gavel

first to settle the parties down

then to give silence the opportunity

to glean the truth

from all the words spoken
