I would understand if any country

slapped a tariff on something

we export a lot

 

American friendliness

 

sure, with the duties placed on them

they’ve every right to try to

balance their economic scales

 

so, why not tax U.S.

visitors and tourists for

each gesture of good will

 

and what would you guys’ charge

per smile, hello or wave of the hand,

any upcharge for all three at once?

 

go ahead, might as well do it

hit us where it hurts, this ingrained

habit to connect won’t change

 

oh, and may I apologize for my

country for bringing it to this point

 

it lingers like one massive cloud

above millions of little suns
