the hose nozzle leaks

drips on the dry sand

birthing four leaves

and a swelling flower bud

 

should I fix it now

as that life cycle nears completion

and the surprise is so close

to unveiling

 

you know, the tinier wonders

I find, the less I look

skyward and the more

I watch my step

 

there is a universe under my feet

of shooting stars, comets

and super novas in a size

I ‘ve just begun to notice

 

though I’ll still take the time

to watch the full moon

float across the night’s pond
