it is easy to be thankful
for the positive things
that go your way
but to be grateful
for all of it for every
black chip of bad luck
each stake to the heart
and shattered expectation
that would be called
unconditional gratitude
and I wonder if those who can
dance in their own blood
still look ahead to the unknown
place healing will take them?
