we don’t do that much

anymore – hand deliver

another soul to the safety

of their house

 

but affection enjoys slowing down

taking it one step at a time

when it has things

it wants to say

 

that gentle pace approaches

the timeless aspect of love

when we lose track

of clock and cellphone

 

and standing on their doorstep

lost in a feeling, would it matter

what time it was, anyway
