What is a Poem? Nov. 19, 2023

a colorless painting of words

a story shortened for the inattentive

bad breath from a front row barker

the tour you pray is not a waste of time

i.e. a boring black and white hike

across a desert of paper

those were always my impressions

until I tagged along behind

one that took me inside

farther than I’d ever gone

to an amazing space

so beautiful I cried

guess I was lucky

it was love

that whispered

follow me
