how about a pooch that
fetches unfailingly every time
spins rolls over jumps on command
doesn’t eat get sick or die
with enhanced senses self-cleaning
a programmable personality
doesn’t need a leash
except maybe on the moon
most likely an upgrade
they’re most certainly coming
though I wonder how they’ll mimic
a real dog’s eyes that hide
the depth of a mountain lake
which beckons us to their shores
where we always seem
to slip in and drown
