a few hope to be colorful memories

pressed onto the page of someone’s life


others wish to see the town

or at least visit the perimeter

of the yard they grew up in


some look for children

to have fun with


those that believe it’s all over

die where they land and face

the funeral rake that pulls

their bodies into a mass grave

or wait to be cremated


not that they have a choice

being leaves without dreams
