waterfall no wind

warm sun dressed in blue

one white cloud

late afternoon Sunday

I sit by the pool

it bubbles to a stop

a mosquito drinks

from my ankle

I scratch a rabid thought

I’ve nothing to bite or

Take away from this day

as it slips away

nothing sad or delightful

lazy or accomplished

nothing as juicy as a memory

even with all the elements

of a beautiful day

what’s there to remember

too easy to forget?
