morning awakens with a gentle fuss of leaves

a baby’s breath of wind wrapped in bird song

 

Did you see the debate for our next Governor?

Yes, I’m torn between a couple packages of words

 

sun bows to clouds, leaves settle, I sit,

my hands lap-folded, pressed in silence

 

wordless, formless, the atmosphere doesn’t care

 Must it matter, the world beyond my backyard?
