Be Careful with History - April 15, 2024

history is made once

and written about

from jig-sawed letters

cut from the murk of memory

a penned past creates a scene

with characters like a puppet show

manipulated by the string man’s hands

emoted with the twisting of wrists   

strength of dialogue   accent choice

all guided by the script

so   to really know a truth

that once breathed   suffered   was afraid

and joyous   broken-hearted and hopeless

inspirational or miraculous

be suspicious

especially if you clearly see

there are strings attached
