it was many houses

for birds of all kinds

climbing kids and squirrels

swings and Lover’s meetings

for creepy crawly things

of infinite measure

and any of those trees that

had they fallen on their own

would’ve become more

homes for rabbits frogs

foxes skunks snakes

so many stately beings sacrificed

to build this dwelling for two

this home that moans

in devilish winds

who’s bones creak

in the cooling night

and sometimes cries

in the pouring rain

that is now just a casket

that never buried

all its souls
